Bronzeoak Philippines to build 100-MW wind farm in Negros

Bronzeoak Philippines is expecting a new 100-megawatt (MW) wind power project to rise in Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental.

Chairman Jose Ma. Zabaleta said the firm invested P13.5 billion for the project, which will be built on 13, 000 hectares of land. It will span across Salvador Benedicto, Calatrava; San Carlos City, Negros Occidental and Bais City, Negros Oriental.

The company is already conducting wind speed readings at the locations, and the project is expected to be completed in five to six years.

Zabaleta added that the wind power projects will complement the existing solar farms in Negros. He said it will not affect the forestry of Negros and assured that the construction will be “ecologically and environmentally safe.”

In March, Bronzeoak finished four solar powered projects with a capacity of 98 MW, with its partner companies in Visayas. The firm is involved in the development and implementation of clean energy projects in the Philippines.
