Basic Energy Corporation has received approval from the Department of Energy (DOE) for its proposed 50-megawatt (MW) wind farm in Mabini, Batangas
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the company said the DOE already signed the Wind Energy Service Contract of subsidiary Mabini Energy Corporation.
The project will occupy 4,860 square meters of land in Mabini, a peninsular town in between the Balayan and Batangas Bays that receives up to 35.1 kilometers per hour, based on the Global Wind Atlas.
The disclosure added that the WESC provides a non-extendible five-year pre-development stage and a 25-year development stage from the time of the contract signing, subject to the department’s approval.
The proposed wind farm is projected to start commercial operations by 2027.
