Pending the subsiding of the floods and the inspection of transmission lines, electricity may be fully restored in Cagayan by Tuesday, Energy Sec. Alfonso Cusi said on Sunday.

Cusi said in a briefing with Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in the province that the capital city of Tuguegarao has been “partly” energized. Meanwhile, power was restored in 27 of the 385 barangays serviced by the Cagayan I Electric Cooperative, which covers the southern part of the province, including Tuguegarao.

On the other hand, the Cagayan II Electric Cooperative, which services the northern part, is waiting for activation by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

According to the NGCP, power is also out in the entire provinces of Kalinga and Apayao, both also neighbors of Cagayan.

Super Typhoon Rolly may not have directly pummelled through Cagayan and neighboring Isabela, but the amount of rains aggravated by the releasing of waters by the Magat Dam have caused massive flooding in the said provinces.
