DOE issues 22 COEs for Renewable Energy Projects.

The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued certificates of endorsement (COE) to 49 power projects across the country 26 of those are renewable energy projects.

22 of these COEs were issued to 22 solar farms, including the 100 – megawatt Sta. Rita solar farm of Jobin – Sqm Inc. in Subic Freeport Zone in Zambales.

The list also included the 63. 4 MW solar farm of Solar Philippines Calatagan Corp in Batangas, Petro Solar Corp.’s 50 – MW solar farm in Tarlac and Sulu Electric Power and Light (Phils) Inc.’s 50 – MW plant in Palo, Leyte.

Two COEs were also granted to two hydropower plants – an eight MW hydroelectric power plant owned by the Mindanao Energy Systems Inc. located in Misamis Oriental, and a one – MW hydropower project Mindoro Grid Corp in Occidental Mindoro.

COE is a requirement for the issuance of the Certificate of Compliance (COC) by the Energy Regulatory Commission. The COE is a prerequisite before any generating company can start its operations on its power project.
