As Luzon awaits the landfall of Typhoon Ulysses, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) has pegged the damage to electric cooperatives brought by Super Typhoon Rolly at Php369.8 million as of November 9.

Power has been restored in at least 1.3 million affected households in, while 780,597 households remain without electricity, majority of them in Bicol.

Several areas under the franchise of the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) were also affected, though have been restored.

Power outages due to Rolly, as well as Typhoon Quinta, lowered the demand for electricity in Luzon. This was a factor in MERALCO’s rate rollback for November.
