9 ACEN plants get Integrated Management System certifications

Ayala-led ACEN power plants have been awarded Integrated Management System (IMS) certifications from the DQS Certifications Philippines, Inc. 

The certified power plants include the 52 megawatt (MW) Northwind Power wind farm in Bangui, the 81 MW North Renewables wind farms in Ilocos Norte; the 54 MW Guimaras Wind farm in San Lorenzo, Guimaras, the 18 MW Monte Solar Energy Inc., and 45 MW San Carlos Solar Energy solar farm both in Negros Occidental; and the 178 MW Luzon peaking plants. 

“To us, these IMS initiatives serve as a guide in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence in our power plants through simplification and standardization in many of our processes and risk-based approaches for better governance. I am really proud of our teams for wholeheartedly committing to these practices and incorporating them into our day-to-day operations,” ACEN executive director and head of plant operations Gabino Mejia said in a statement. 

The ACEN power plants were awarded Quality Management System certifications (ISO 9001:2015), Environmental Management System certifications (ISO 14001:2015), and Occupational Health and Safety Management System certifications (ISO 45001:2018). 

“Through their (ACEN’s) adherence to stringent international working standards and their determination and perseverance which we have witnessed firsthand, ACEN’s recognition highlights their strategic approach to business operations amidst a challenging environment.” DQS maanaging director Romeo Zamora said. 

ACEN currently has an attributable capacity of 3,800 MW across the Asia Pacific as it remains committed to achieving a 5,000 MW all-RE portfolio by 2025.
