Alsons Power, SPC launch pilot cadetship program for future energy leaders

Alsons Power Group has partnered with St. Peter’s College (SPC) in Iligan City to launch the pilot implementation of its Cadetship Training Program, a flagship talent development initiative aimed at preparing young professionals for careers in the power industry.

Alsons announced that the partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed by Alsons Power Vice President for Corporate Services Maria Jiji Q. Lara and SPC President Peter Dan P. Punongbayan. The program is implemented through Alsons Power Supply Corporation, the company’s retail electricity supply arm.

The 18-month program combines classroom instruction, on-the-job training, mentoring, and project exposure designed to help fresh graduates transition from campus to career while building professional and technical competence in the energy field.

“Through the Cadetship Training Program, we are opening doors for young professionals especially those from Mindanao — to be part of our mission to power with care,” Lara said. “This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing future leaders of the energy industry and empowering them to grow and thrive with Alsons Power.”

Punongbayan welcomed the partnership, noting its value in bridging academic training with practical experience. “We are deeply grateful for Alsons Power’s trust and confidence. This partnership provides SPC graduates a valuable opportunity to gain real-world industry experience and potentially pursue rewarding careers within the energy sector,” he said.

Alsons Power said that following this pilot run in Iligan City, the program will be expanded nationwide to reach more aspiring talents and develop a pipeline of skilled professionals to support the country’s growing energy needs.
