Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), through its subsidiary Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO), has entered a partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Navotas City Government to restore local waterways and enhance air quality monitoring in the city, using a PHP4.3-million investment.

TMO will support two DENR environmental programs — Adopt-an-Estero and Adopt-a-Continuous Ambient Air Monitoring Station (CAMS). The first focuses on canal cleanup drives, the installation of trash traps, and community education campaigns to reduce flooding and promote cleaner waterways. The second involves establishing a real-time air monitoring station that will track major air pollutants, thus making TMO one of the few private partners directly funding air quality initiatives with the DENR.

Navotas City Mayor John Reynald M. Tiangco said the partnership will directly benefit residents and the local economy. “This is a big help to the people of Navotas. When our waterways are healthy, our businesses will also do well, creating a better ecosystem for all,” he stated.

Lou Jason Deligencia, AboitizPower Transition Business Group AVP for Corporate Services, highlighted that environmental stewardship is deeply embedded in the company’s values.
