Aboitiz Power Corporation is looking to spend Php24 billion in investments and capital expenditures for coal, solar, and battery storage facilities in 2021.

Among the projects in the pipeline are the continuing construction of GN Power Dinginin (GNPD); storage projects for subsidiary Therma Mobile, Inc.; and various endeavors for SN Aboitiz Power’s (SNAP), including its 67 megawatt (MW) floating solar project in the Magat Dam complex in Isabela.

Located in Mariveles, Bataan, GNPD is a coal-fired power plant under construction slated to produce a total of 1,336 MW. Its first 668 MW unit is set to synchronise by year’s end and would begin commercial operations by the second quarter of 2021.

Meanwhile, SNAP is AboitizPower’s joint venture with SN Power of Norway.

AboitizPower President and CEO Emmanuel Rubio said the company is committed to helping ensure the long-term reliability, sustainability, and affordability of the country’s energy system.
