The Board of Investments (BOI) has granted green lane certificates to Vind Energy Corporation for its Php 331 billion offshore wind projects in Cavite and Guimaras.
Business Mirror reported that these projects, slated for 2030, will boast a potential maximum capacity of 994 megawatts (MW) and 728 MW, respectively.
Additionally, the projects will utilize “fixed-bottom offshore wind technology”.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Ceferino S. Rodolfo presented the Certificates to Alma Roxas-Aguila, Development Director of Corio Generation, a shareholder in Vind Energy.
Corio, which also has offshore wind projects in other markets like Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam, is confident in the streamlined implementation of its projects in the Philippines, thanks to the green lane endorsements.
Corio added that it has three more offshore wind projects in the pipeline awaiting green lane endorsement.
In a statement, the BOI highlighted the importance of these certifications for advancing the country’s decarbonization goals.
