Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz rolls out its first fully electric truck in the Philippines

In a major step toward cleaner and more sustainable operations, Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP), has officially launched its first fully electric truck, thus reinforcing its commitment to decarbonizing its supply chain and promoting environmental stewardship.

The new zero-emission BYD-built tractor-trailer, stationed at the company’s Sta. Rosa Plant in Laguna, will serve delivery routes in and around the area, as reported by Manila Bulletin. Equipped with a 355 kWh battery and a range of up to 200 kilometers, the vehicle is supported by an on-site charging station and is expected to avoid around 54,000 kilograms of CO₂ emissions annually compared to a conventional diesel truck.

“At CCEAP, we remain committed to delivering our refreshing beverages to more people, in a more sustainable and energy-efficient way,” said Gareth McGeown, CEO of CCEAP. “We always grow our business the right way as we contribute to a cleaner future for the communities we serve.”

Formerly known as Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc., CCEAP currently operates one of the largest truck fleets in the country, with more than 3,500 delivery trucks and 2,000 service vehicles, serving over 1 million micro-retailers and 6,000 key customers nationwide. The company said that introducing electric vehicles is part of its long-term strategy to integrate clean energy and smart mobility solutions into its operations.

“We recognize the critical role that our logistics operations play in supporting our customers and achieving an even more sustainable supply chain for our business,” said Frank Garcia, CCEAP Vice President for Supply Chain.

The launch aligns with the broader climate targets of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), CCEAP’s parent company, which has pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 (from 2019 levels) and achieve net zero by 2040. These goals have been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

CCEAP has also installed over 23,000 solar panels across its plants nationwide, including its Sta. Rosa facility, which has been recognized three times with the GREEN Award by the City of Sta. Rosa for its sustainability initiatives. The plant’s achievements highlight the company’s leadership in renewable energy adoption and water stewardship.
