Meralco awarded Four-Golden Arrow for governance excellence

Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) was honored with a Four-Golden Arrow recognition for outstanding corporate governance at the 2025 Golden Arrow Awards held in Pasay City on October 23, 2025. Atty. Jocelyn C. Villar-Altamira, Meralco’s vice president and head of corporate governance and compliance, accepted the award on the company’s behalf.

The accolade, organized by the Institute of Corporate Directors, reflects Meralco’s top performance in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), a regional benchmark used to assess transparency, board practices, and accountability among publicly listed firms.

The recognition follows Meralco’s earlier ASEAN Asset Class Award in July 2025, when it was named among the Top 35 publicly listed companies in Southeast Asia at the ASEAN Corporate Governance Conference and Awards in Kuala Lumpur. Together, the awards underline the utility’s recent emphasis on governance reforms and investor-facing transparency.

In its official statement, Meralco said the recognition is a testament to its ongoing efforts to institutionalize international best practices across the company and to sustain long-term value creation for shareholders and customers.
