MPower, Robinsons groups support Laguna public school with learning tools

MPower and partners from the Robinsons group extended learning support to a public elementary school in Laguna. The groups provided classroom tools and school supplies aimed at helping students and teachers as the school year progresses.

The initiative benefited San Pedro Central Elementary School, which serves more than 2,000 students and teachers. The school is known for its Special Science Program, as well as programs supporting special needs and indigent learners.

The activity was part of MPower’s Back-to-School Donation Drive, carried out with One Meralco Foundation, Robinsons Malls, and Robinsons Land Foundation (RLove), the social responsibility arm of Robinsons Land Corporation.

Donated items included classroom equipment such as a television set, printer, and electric fans, as well as books, paper supplies, school bags, reusable water bottles, and hygiene materials. The partners said these items were selected to support daily classroom activities and improve the learning environment for students.

Beyond the turnover of supplies, representatives also held a story-reading session with students. The activity highlights efforts to encourage literacy and student engagement alongside the material donations.

San Pedro Central Elementary School is the 37th beneficiary of MPower’s iMPower corporate social responsibility program, which focuses on education-related initiatives. The activity also aligns with Robinsons Land’s R Eskwela program, which supports the rehabilitation and improvement of learning institutions.

As schools continue to navigate resource constraints, how can partnerships between the private sector and public schools further support students’ day-to-day learning needs?
