Pampanga receives aid as earthquake causes power interruptions

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has provided 15 generator sets, 30 floodlights, and 20-tonner crane to help in the search and rescue operations in the collapsed Chuzon Supermarket in Porac, Pampanga.

Aside from the power distributor, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) and Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc., (PHILRECA) also assessed the damages caused by the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit Central Luzon on April 22.

There were 43 units of damaged transformers; 14 affected poles; 3 feeders under inspection for safety.

As of April 23, 2019 at 5 p.m. 99.85% of power were restored in the affected areas, corresponding to 201,227 customers.
