PetroEnergy Resources Corporation (PERC) is gearing up to launch at least three new solar projects across the Philippines by 2025.
These projects are expected to contribute over 87 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy to the Luzon and Visayas grids once fully operational.
According to a report by Philippine Star, the firm’s subsidiary, Dagohoy Green Energy Corporation, is currently advancing the 27-MW Dagohoy solar power project in Bohol.
The project’s progress has been bolstered by a Php 834 million loan extended by Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC). The Dagohoy project will begin testing and commissioning next month, with plans to launch commercial operations by January 2025.
Aside from the Dagohoy project, PERC recently acquired two other solar developments: the 19.6-MW San Jose solar project in Nueva Ecija and the 41-MW Limbauan solar project in Isabela.
The Department of Energy (DOE) has authorized the assignment and transfer of the service contract for the Nueva Ecija project to San Jose Green Energy Corporation (SJGEC), enabling the continuation of its construction.
The testing and commissioning of the San Jose project is slated to start by the end of September, with commercial operations expected in the first quarter of 2025.
Meanwhile, for the Limbauan solar project, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has given the green light for its system impact study, which is expected to commence by September 2024. Site clearing for this 41-MW project is slated for completion by the end of this year, with the project likely to be energized by October 2024.
PERC also unveiled additional projects in the pipeline, including the 25-MW Bugallon solar project in Pangasinan and three offshore wind facilities in northern Luzon, northern Mindanao, and Panay.
