The 3rd Philippine Renewable Energy Conference Powered By: First Gen aims to accelerate the country’s transition to 50% renewable energy by 2040 by uniting key government, industry, and private stakeholders around the National Renewable Energy Plan (NREP) 2025–2050.
Set against the backdrop of growing energy demand and the need for sustainable solutions, the conference, to be held on August 7-8, 2025 at the City of Dreams Manila, will provide a strategic platform to present the country’s updated roadmap and drive whole-of-nation participation.
The Department of Energy (DOE) has outlined a target of reaching 35% renewable energy share in the power generation mix by 2030 and 50% by 2040. Achieving this requires collaboration among regulators, developers, utilities, financiers, and energy users.
The 3rd Philippine Renewable Energy Conference Powered By: First Gen will feature key sessions on solar, onshore and offshore wind, and energy storage, as well as highlight the growing role of retail electricity suppliers (RES) in scaling renewable energy adoption for industrial, commercial, and local government use. It will also discuss new policies to improve grid integration, boost renewable energy investments, and promote energy efficiency, supporting the country’s renewable energy goals.
Emerging technologies and project innovations will take center stage during the conference’s technology showcases, which include mini exhibitions and business-to-business (B2B) matching. These sessions aim to match solution providers with project developers, LGUs, and industry players exploring clean energy transitions.
The event also aims to spotlight the crucial role of RES providers in expanding access to clean energy beyond large industrial hubs. Through bundled energy solutions, RES can help supply public markets, small and medium enterprises, and government buildings.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with project developers, policy makers, and investors to unlock new projects and improve regulatory alignment. These interactions are expected to catalyze deals and partnerships in the months following the event.
At the center of this year’s conference is the presentation of the National Renewable Energy Plan (NREP) 2025–2050, which sets a long-term direction for RE development across regions. The DOE will outline policy tools and investment mechanisms needed to support this transition.
With clean energy now seen as both a sustainability and competitiveness driver, the 3rd Philippine Renewable Energy Conference will underscore the importance of policy, finance, and innovation in shaping the country’s energy future.
