SMPC president resigns as chief risk officer

Semirara

Consunji-led Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC) has announced the resignation of its President and COO Maria Cristina Gotianun as the firm’s concurrent chief risk officer.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, SMPC said Gotianun has resigned from her position as chief risk officer for personal reasons effective today. No mention was made about any movement on her being the company’s president.

Gotianun as chief risk officer will be replaced by Junalina Tabor, who has also been promoted as Chief Risk, Compliance & Performance Officer and SVP of the SMPC Group. Tabor was previously SMPC’s Vice President and CFO.

Gotianun, a daughter of DMCI Holdings founder David Consunji, was named President and COO of SMPC following the untimely death of her brother Victor in January 2019. She is also married to EastWest Bank Chairman Jonathan Gotianun, a member of the clan that owns the Filinvest Group.

SMPC also announced the promotion of Carla Cristina Levina as its Vice President and CFO replacing Tabor.

“Biogas is a renewable energy but can also offer multiple environmental and climate services for a sustainable and circular economy in the Philippines. It even helps to create local jobs and economic development in rural areas,” added Marc Reinhard, GBA Trainer and International Affairs Consultant.
