Industry leaders and stakeholders on Friday gathered to discuss the most pressing issues in the country’s rapidly growing energy industry.

SecurityMatters Magazine, in partnership with Ace And Associates, Inc. (AAA) held the Energy Industries Security and Safety Symposium as part of its Asset Protection Courses and Symposia.

Among its speakers were retired Vice Admiral Ferdinand Solis Golez of EDC, Mr. Bingen Mendoza of AEV, and Mr. Neil Quijano of STEAG State Power Inc., who shared their experience as security managers in asset protection.

Dr. Teofredo T. Esguerra, who was served as the expedition and wilderness emergency medical services physician of the Philippine Mt. Everest expedition team, discussed emergency response with the audience.

Information Security Specialist Capt. Carlos Ely Tiongson of the Presidential Security Group talked about cyber-attacks against the energy sector and electronic countermeasures.

President and managing director of Ace and Associates Inc. Augustus Caesar Esmeralda likewise pushed for the employment of a more holistic approach in security-risk assessment in energy industries.
