Meralco provides charging stations to Taal evacuees

The social responsibility arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco) One Meralco Foundation (OMF) has set up solar-powered charging stations at an evacuation center in Alfonso, Cavite on January 13.

Around 3,000 families affected by the Taal Volcano eruption are currently in the said evacuation are. 

Other evacuation centers will be provided with power stations in the coming days.

Aside from mobile power stations, OMF also distributed food packs to the families. The evacuees are mostly from Laurel, Talisay, Agoncillo, and Lemery Batangas.

Approximately a thousand evacuees staying at the Batangas Sports Complex in Batangas City, and the City Evacuation Center and PUP Gymnasium in Sto. Tomas, Batangas also received relief packs.

Meralco employees participated in the preparation and distribution of OMF’s relief packs, as well as raising funds to benefit more families.
