The 230-kiloVolt (kV) Pasay substation project will improve the grid’s resiliency through a back-up facility required to prevent outages in the event that other equipment won’t be available or on scheduled maintenance shutdown, the National Grid Corporation (NGCP) said.
NGCP added that the proposed Pasay substation is will support the growth, development, and energy security of the western area in Metro Manila.
The said project also includes a provision to connect the Pasay substation directly to a substation in Bataan through a high-voltage submarine cable.
The Regional Trial Court (RTC) has already directed the Social Security System (SSS) to vacate a portion of its property in Diokno Ave. in Pasay City for the power project.
All transmission facilities built during concession are deemed for public use and will be turned over to the government after the period, NGCP said.
NGCP is in charge of operating, maintaining, and developing the country’s state-owned power grid. Report from the Philippine News Agency.
