Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation (CREC) has entered a 2-gigawatt (GW) module supply contract with Trinasolar, a global provider of smart photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions.
Trinasolar committed to supplying its Vertex N 720W Series (NEG21C.20) solar modules to support CREC’s upcoming 2GW capacity expansion. This rollout is aligned with the Philippine government’s priority renewable energy projects, including initiatives under the Green Energy Auction.
“As we near the completion of our first gigawatt, we are preparing for our next two gigawatts through this new supply agreement with Trinasolar,” said Oliver Tan, CREC President and CEO. “Our partnership, now reaching a total of 3GW, reflects our shared commitment to powering a First-World Philippines with 100% renewable energy through innovation and efficiency.”
CREC is working toward its ambitious goal of delivering 5GW of renewable energy capacity within five years.
Trinasolar’s Helena Li praised the collaboration, stating, “This 2GW supply contract is our largest in the Philippines, underscoring the mutual trust and shared vision between Trinasolar and Citicore. Citicore is a key partner in advancing renewable energy, and we are honored to support their ambitions with our state-of-the-art solar technology. Together, we’re setting a new standard for sustainable growth in the region.”
According to CREC, this partnership aims to fast-track solar development and contribute significantly to a greener, more sustainable Philippines.
