Subic’s 72MW Solar Plant Set to Go Live

Power PH – Subic’s 72MW Solar Plant Set to Go Live

Zambales is gearing up for a renewable energy boost with Jobin-SQM Inc. (JSI), a subsidiary of Zamora-led Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC), soon to start operations at its 72-megawatt Subic solar power plant. The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines granted the final connection approval on March 29, as reported by Bilyonaryo.com

NAC is driving multiple solar energy initiatives through its subsidiaries. In Palawan, its subsidiary Northern Palawan Power Generation Corporation (NPPGC) is constructing a 145-megawatt solar facility, with the first 70-megawatt phase set to start operations by Q1 2026. Similarly, NAC’s subsidiary Nazareno Solar Power Corp. (NSPC) received Department of Energy approval to develop a 53-hectare solar site in Hermosa, Bataan, under Solar Energy Operating Contract No. 2023-12-804.

In January, the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the rebranding of Manta Baguio Properties Corp. to Nazareno Solar Power Corp., reflecting NAC’s focus on solar energy.
