Vivant buys into Tigon Power Corp.’s 53-MW Samal Solar Power Project

Vivant Energy Corporation has expanded its renewable energy portfolio with the acquisition of a 40% stake, valued at PHP 395 million, in the 53.14-megawatt peak (MWp) Samal Solar Power Project in Bataan.

The project, developed by Tigon Power Corp. and operated under Samal Solar Renewable Energy Corporation (SSREC), entered commercial operations in August 2025. It currently supplies 52 MW of clean energy to Corenergy, Vivant Energy’s retail electricity subsidiary.

Vivant Energy President and COO Emil Andre Garcia and Tigon Power President and CEO Mayleen Ting formalized the partnership through a ceremonial handshake, witnessed by Vivant Corporation CEO Arlo Sarmiento and Tigon Power Chairman Elon Ting.

The company said the investment supports the Department of Energy’s call for stronger public-private partnerships in accelerating the energy transition. It also advances Vivant Energy’s target of raising its renewable energy share to 30% of its total generation mix by 2030.

“Vivant Energy is committed to contributing to the country’s clean energy transition while promoting local development and capacity building,” the company said.

Vivant Energy, a subsidiary of Vivant Corporation, operates across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao with investments in distribution, generation, retail electricity, and engineering solutions.
