Meralco has completed a series of tree-trimming and maintenance works across Talim Island in Rizal to reduce the risk of unplanned outages and strengthen the reliability of electricity service for residents.
The initiative covered multiple barangays in Binangonan (Bombong, Ithan, and Kasile) and Cardona (Malanggam, Navotas, and Subay), where crews cleared overgrown vegetation encroaching on distribution lines. Meralco worked closely with the local governments of Binangonan and Cardona to carry out the maintenance activities.
The company said the program forms part of its broader efforts to enhance power resiliency, especially in geographically isolated communities. Beyond the trimming operations, Meralco also engaged with local officials and residents to discuss further measures to improve service delivery on the island.
Meralco First Vice President and Head of Networks Froilan J. Savet said the work highlights the company’s commitment to providing reliable electricity across all areas of its franchise. “This initiative reflects our commitment to continuously improve the delivery of electricity service to our customers. Talim Island is an important part of our service area and we are working relentlessly to ensure that our customers here receive the same level of reliability as those in other areas we serve,” Savet said.
The company noted that similar upgrades and preventive maintenance drives are being rolled out across its network to reinforce electricity service quality.
