Meralco received the Platinum Award for Asia’s Best Integrated Report – First-Time Category at the 2025 Asia Integrated Reporting Awards (AIRA) for its One Meralco 2024 Integrated Report. The report was the highest-scoring first-time entry from organizations across Asia, the Pacific, and the Middle East.
AIRA is regarded as a leading regional platform for recognizing excellence in sustainability and integrated reporting. The program subjects entries to a multi-stage evaluation, which includes a review of reporting quality and reputation checks conducted by assessors and judges.
Meralco said the award affirms the company’s effort to align transparency, accountability, and long-term value creation in a single reporting framework. The One Meralco 2024 Integrated Report outlines the company’s strategy, governance approach, operating performance, and outlook. It also incorporates one of the first double materiality assessments in the Philippines, covering both the impact of operations on stakeholders and the financial implications of sustainability-related risks.
The report adopts the International Integrated Reporting Framework and the IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures standard. Raymond B. Ravelo, Meralco First Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, said: “We recognize that what matters to our stakeholders goes well beyond financial and operational figures. Climate risks, social impact, and governance are now key drivers of value.”
AIRA founder and CSRWorks International Managing Director Rajesh Chhabara said the recognized companies are “redefining corporate transparency and long-term value creation through integrated thinking.”
