Diadi LGU health mission backed by SNAP-Magat reaches 307 residents

Renewable energy firm SN Aboitiz Power-Magat (SNAP-Magat) and the Local Government Unit of Diadi in Nueva Vizcaya have marked 18 years of conducting annual medical and dental missions, sustaining one of the longest-running corporate-led health outreach programs in the province.

The latest activity, held on February 12, formed part of the company’s “A Dozen Full of Love Program,” an annual initiative aimed at delivering essential health and social services to host communities.

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund, SNAP-Magat donated around PHP 200,000 worth of essential medicines to support Diadi’s medical and dental program, which served 307 residents, including children, adults, and senior citizens.

Beneficiaries received general medical consultations and treatment, basic diagnostic services, laboratory testing, medical checkups, minor procedures, dental consultations, and tooth extractions. The mission was carried out with support from doctors from the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Health Office and municipal health offices of Diadi and neighboring municipalities.

Diadi Mayor Sandy Gayaton expressed appreciation for SNAP-Magat’s continued partnership, noting that it has brought meaningful assistance and development opportunities to the municipality. The medical mission has been sustained across multiple municipal administrations over the past 18 years.

This year’s outreach also included a mass wedding ceremony, Social Security System assistance, legal aid services from volunteer lawyers, and the distribution of seedlings and fingerlings to support food security and sustainable livelihoods.

SNAP owns and operates the 360-megawatt Magat hydroelectric power plant, located on the border of Isabela and Ifugao, as well as the Ambuklao and Binga hydro plants in Benguet, the Maris hydro facility, and a 24-MW Magat battery energy storage system. The company is a joint venture between Scatec and Aboitiz Renewables, Inc., the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corporation.

As renewable developers expand capacity nationwide, how should firms measure and report the long-term impact of community programs tied to their operating assets?
