Community mall Water Mart has signed a 4.7 megawatt (MW) power supply contract with Aboitiz Power under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) scheme.
“As we grow our portfolio, we need a reliable power supply to ensure convenient shopping for our valued customers every day. We trust that AboitizPower, with its proven track record in power generation and distribution, has the capacity to meet our requirements and help us deliver on our brand promise,” Abraham Uy, chairman of WM Shopping Center Management, Inc, said.
He added that a reliable power supply will allow Walter Mart to focus on giving a happy shopping experience to its customers.
Walter Mart is set to open four branches in Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Batangas this year, in line with its target to double its current portfolio of 23 community malls and supermarkets in the next five years.
“We thank Walter Mart for their confidence in AboitizPower and we are excited to work with them as we share the same vision of delivering reliable customer service,” Aboitiz Power First Vice President for Energy Sales and Trading said at the contract signing.
Gloria said that signing up with suppliers that have size, portfolio of power plants and experience in the industry gives customers “peace of mind.”
Walter Mart is the only Philippine supermarket that is a member of the International Grocers Alliance, an international organization of around 5,000 trusted hometown supermarkets across the globe.
Aboitiz Power currently has around 3,995 NW net sellable capacity with its partners.
