Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation intends to convert its Bulacan production facility to run on 100% renewable energy (RE) through a partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES).
In a statement, ACEN said that this partnership symbolized a significant advancement for Ajinomoto Philippines’ sustainability goals and a commitment on the firm’s part to supplying renewable energy solutions to businesses that are committed to sustainable development goals.
“Ajinomoto Philippines is committed to environmental responsibility and achieving sustainable
growth. Our switch to renewable energy supply through ACEN RES is a significant step
towards this goal,” said Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation president Koichi Osaki.
Osaki went on to say that the firm had been strengthening partnerships with other organizations that also have a similar purpose and objective.
“We are delighted to welcome Ajinomoto Philippines as a partner in our mission to accelerate the Philippines’ transition to a renewable energy future,” said ACEN Corporation Senior Vice President Tony Valdez.
The Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) program enabled this partnership, providing businesses with a monthly demand of at least 500 kilowatts (kW) the power to choose their electricity supplier.
