Alternergy Holdings Corporation (ALTER) has declared its first cash dividends for common shareholders. This marks a first milestone for the renewable energy firm since its listing on the Philippine Stock Exchange in March 2023.
In a disclosure dated July 16, the board of directors approved a cash dividend of PHP0.01 per share, totaling to PHP40 million, to be distributed to common shareholders of record as of August 14, 2025. The dividend will be paid out on September 11, 2025.
“We are delighted to announce our first common dividend to our common shareholders, who are a mix of institutional, retail, and foreign investors,” said ALTER President Gerry P. Magbanua. He added that while the dividend amount is modest, it showcases the company’s financial discipline and focus on long-term sustainability.
Alternergy previously paid dividends to its preferred shareholders in December 2024, including a PHP118 million payout to the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
The dividend declaration comes as Alternergy reports significant progress on its “Road to 500 MW by 2026” initiative. The company recently received its first shipment of wind turbines for the 128-megawatt Tanay Wind Power Project, while other turbines delivered in April for the 64-MW Alabat Wind Power Project are now awaiting installation.
Two other projects, the 28-MWp Balsik Solar Power Project in Bataan and the 4.6-MW Dupinga Mini-Hydro Plant respectively, are nearing completion and are expected to begin commercial operations between late 2025 and early 2026.
“With the completion of our wind, solar, and run-of-river projects under construction and the eventual start of commercial operations, we expect more robust financials and ultimately yield more value to our shareholders from our Triple Play portfolio,” Magbanua said.
Alternergy is led by a pioneering group of renewable energy advocates and industry veterans. Its project portfolio includes wind, run-of-river hydro, solar farm, commercial rooftop, battery storage, and offshore wind developments.
