The Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ANECO) formally inaugurated its newly-upgraded Villa Kananga Substation in Butuan City on Wednesday, June 18, as announced by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) on its Facebook page.
Leading the ceremony were NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda and Department of Energy (DOE) Assistant Secretary Mario Marasigan.
According to ANECO, the substation’s capacity has been expanded from its previous 10 megavolt amperes (MVA) to a range of 25 to 33 MVA. The upgrade is aimed at ensuring more stable and reliable power delivery across the cooperative’s franchise area amid growing electricity demand.
Also in attendance were NEA Board Members Engr. Jovel Ubay-Ubay, Engr. Ed Piamonte, and Nollie Alamillo, along with ANECO General Manager Engr. Darwin Daymiel and Board President Romeo Gumadlas.
The inauguration marks a milestone in ANECO’s efforts to modernize its power infrastructure and improve service quality in Agusan del Norte.
