Basic Energy, ACMobility partner to roll out RE-powered EV charging sites

Basic Energy Renewable Corporation (BERC), a unit of listed Basic Energy Corporation (BEC), has partnered with Ayala Group’s mobility platform ACMobility to jointly develop and manage a network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations powered by renewable energy.

The initiative will pilot at Total SLEX Northbound in Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Total NLEX in Apalit, Pampanga; and Ecooil EDSA in Mandaluyong, featuring co-branded Basic RePower–ACMobility charging facilities. These initial sites will serve as templates for nationwide rollout in select retail stations.

“This partnership with ACMobility signifies Basic Energy’s strong commitment to advancing clean energy and sustainable transport,” said Oscar de Venecia Jr., CEO of Basic Energy Corporation. “Together, we aim to make EV charging more accessible, convenient, and powered by renewable energy — enabling Filipino motorists to take part in the journey toward a greener future.”

All charging points will be integrated into Evro, ACMobility’s EV charging app, which allows users to locate, monitor, and pay for charging sessions.

The collaboration builds on BEC’s Green Energy E-Transport Program (GEEP), launched in 2023, and forms part of its broader renewable energy roadmap spanning solar, wind, geothermal, and energy storage projects. Through the Basic RePower platform, BERC aims to establish a nationwide charging network that supports the decarbonization of the transport sector.

ACMobility, meanwhile, is expanding its EV infrastructure under the Ayala Group’s push for electrified mobility, alongside its vehicle distribution and service network.
