Japanese manufacturer Big Philippines Corporation has chosen Jin Navitas Electric Corporation (JNEC) as its new Retail Electricity Supplier (RES), aiming to improve power reliability and reduce energy costs.
The switch was formalized at a ceremonial signing held at Big Philippines’ facility in Silang, Cavite. The agreement follows the Department of Energy’s Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) program, which allows large consumers to choose their own electricity supplier.
JNEC will deliver power to support the company’s daily production of plastic components used in camera lenses, printers, laptops, and other electronics.
A portion of the electricity will come from Solaris’ rooftop solar project at Pasinaya Homes in Naic, Cavite. Solaris is a clean energy developer focused on distributed renewable systems, including utility-scale solar across rooftops of socialized housing communities.
By sourcing from renewable energy, Big Philippines strengthens its sustainability profile while managing electricity costs in a competitive energy market.
The partnership also adds to JNEC’s growing portfolio of contestable customers in Luzon. JNEC positions itself as a cost-efficient and dependable RES, offering flexible energy solutions across sectors.
The agreement aligns with national goals to increase renewable energy use and empower large electricity users to shift toward cleaner and more stable power supply arrangements.
