EDC assures consumers continuous power service

Leading geothermal energy developer the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) has vowed unimpeded power supply to the public and its stakeholders, as the country faces an outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The company has implemented a skeletal-on-ground work scheme for continuous operations of its power plants in the country as it is still required to continuously function despite nationwide community quarantine, an EDC official said.

“We have also assigned key people in our power plants to continuously provide the electricity that is vital to our country, especially in these trying times,” Head of EDC’s Business Development, Trading and Marketing Marvin Bailon.

EDC saw the need for reliable power more than ever to supply healthcare facilities, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, and food manufacturing businesses to better serve the public.

“We are a committed organization that stands ready to fulfill our duty to the public—to not only provide 100 percent clean, renewable power but to make sure that it is uninterrupted,” Bailon added.
