A new international renewable energy collaboration is underway as Envision Energy, PC1 Group, and Aboitiz Power team up for the Libmanan Wind Power Project in Camarines Sur.
Under the partnership, Envision Energy has secured a turbine supply agreement with Vietnam-based PC1 Group to provide 58.5 megawatts (MW) of wind turbine generators, supporting the Philippines’ push for a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
Energy Monitor reported the wind farm is part of the Philippines’ Green Energy Auction Program 2 (GEAP 2), a government initiative to expand renewable energy to 35% of the country’s power mix by 2030.
The collaboration highlights the growing international effort to accelerate Southeast Asia’s shift to renewable energy sources.
Aboitiz Power, which is leading the project, is expected to begin commercial operations by the end of 2026.
Envision Energy said its turbines are built for tropical climates and will contribute to the country’s decarbonization goals.
The project is also anticipated to create jobs and drive economic growth in Camarines Sur.
Envision Energy’s General Manager for Asia and Africa John Lee said the company is proud to partner with PC1 Group on this project backed by Aboitiz Power.
Concurrently, PC1 Group’s Deputy General Director Dang Quoc Tuong said the partnership with Envision and Aboitiz Power aligns with their goal of expanding green energy initiatives across Asia.
This agreement follows Envision Energy’s recent turbine supply deals for ACEN’s 344.5MW Quezon North wind project, as well as Alternergy’s 128MW Tanay and 64MW Alabat wind farms.
