ERC and IEMOP Clear 27-MW Dagohoy Solar Plant for Commercial Launch

PetroEnergy Resources Corporation (PERC) announced that the Dagohoy Solar Power Plant (DSPP) in Bohol has secured final regulatory clearances to begin commercial operations on July 16, 2025.

The 27.121-megawatt direct current (MWDC) solar facility, the first large-scale utility solar plant in Bohol, received its Provisional Authority to Operate (PAO) from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on July 4. This was followed up by the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) confirming its participation in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) on July 8.

The DSPP is part of a 111.58 MWDC solar portfolio under Rizal Green Energy Corp. (RGEC), which is a joint venture between PERC’s renewable energy arm PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and Japan’s Taisei Corporation. Other solar projects in the pipeline include the 19.61 MWDC San Jose plant in Nueva Ecija, which is awaiting regulatory approval, the 25.01 MWDC Bugallon and 39.84 MWDC Limbauan solar plants, set for completion later this year.

“We are proud that our Dagohoy solar power facility is set to begin commercial operations in Bohol, adding much needed indigenous and clean energy in the province which has long relied on imported power,” said PGEC AVP for Power Markets Dave P. Gadiano. He added that the project not only enhances Bohol’s energy security but also supports the province’s goals of becoming a leading ecotourism destination.

The plant’s entry into WESM also signals the formal start of its power supply agreement with SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP).
