ERC Backs Filinvest Shift to RAP and GEOP in Clean Energy Drive

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) highlighted their drive for consumer empowerment during the ceremonial switch of several Filinvest Group properties to innovative power supply models under the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) and the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP). The event took place at the Crimson Hotel in Filinvest City, Alabang, on September 5 2025, and was organized by FDC Retail Electricity Sales Corporation (FDC RES).

Four Filinvest properties are now enrolled under RAP with a combined demand of 1 megawatt (MW). Six more properties, on the other hand, have joined GEOP, thus signaling the group’s commitment to a cleaner and more competitive energy supply.

In his speech, ERC Chairperson Juan emphasized that RAP and GEOP are not just regulatory milestones, but as important tools in expanding consumer choice, inclusivity, and sustainability. Through RAP, small and medium enterprises, campuses, and communities can aggregate demand to lower costs and adopt smarter energy practices. GEOP, meanwhile, empowers end-users with at least 100 kilowatts of demand to directly source electricity from renewable energy providers.

“Energy is not merely a commodity but a catalyst for development, equity, and resilience,” Chairperson Juan said, urging industry players and consumers alike to embrace clean energy and consumer empowerment in shaping a sustainable future.

Do you think more businesses should follow Filinvest’s example by joining RAP and GEOP to accelerate the country’s renewable energy transition?
