Global Business Power Corp. (GBPC) is banking on the increased infrastructure demand and positive business outlook of the power sector by expanding it energy portfolio and breaching into Luzon.
“One of our key priorities is to support the country’s growth momentum, and we look to harness various opportunities as we help cater to the country’s growing energy requirements,” GBPC President Rolando Bacani said.
Bacani said expanding GBPC’s portfolio is crucial to more effectively address the needs of consumers.
The company is eyeing Luzon as its next frontier, GBPC executive vice president Jaime Azurin said.
“Now that we have secured the baseload requirement of the Visayas with our facilities in Cebu and Panay, we are now looking into expanding in Luzon,” he said.
He said that the company has plans to put up a 2×335-MW coal-fired power facility in the region.
The GBPC official also said that they are looking to enter the renewable energy sector.
“Another key priority for us is to explore renewable energy sources as part of our commitment to offer flexible energy solutions to our customers,” Azurin said.
Global Renewable Power Corp. (GRPC), GBPC’s RE arm, has been looking into renewable energy projects like bagasse and hydro.
“We have a couple of biomass projects in the pipeline, which will be our first foray into RE,” Azurin said.
