Meralco Issues Flood Safety Tips, Mobilizes Crews as Crising, Habagat Bring Heavy Rains

With parts of its service area experiencing moderate to heavy rains, Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) urged caution and confirmed readiness for storm-related outages.
Meralco assured customers that its crews are on high alert, ready to respond as Severe Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon affect Luzon.
The company, in a statement, said it is closely monitoring conditions in areas under its franchise, especially those experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall.
“Our crews are ready to respond to any possible electricity service concern,” said Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga.
Zaldarriaga also urged customers to follow safety precautions when using electrical appliances during floods.
“We also reiterate our call to the public to observe safety measures when using electrical devices and appliances, especially when there is flooding,” he added.
