Meralco nears full restoration in habagat-hit areas: June 22, 6PM update

Meralco continues round-the-clock restoration efforts in areas battered by the southwest monsoon, with power interruptions reduced to about 29,000 customers as of 6 PM on July 22.

The remaining affected customers are mostly in Cavite, Metro Manila, and Bulacan, with some in Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon. Nearly half of these are in locations still experiencing flooding, which complicates restoration work.

“As we continue to closely monitor the weather situation given the entry of Tropical Depression Dante, we assure our customers that we will not stop until service is safely restored to all affected customers. We are also one with the Department of Energy in urging the public to continue observing electrical safety practices, especially in areas that are still flooded,” said Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga.

To support operations in flooded areas, Meralco has deployed high-bed trucks and motorized fiberglass boats. Additionally, the One Meralco Foundation has begun delivering relief to communities in Marikina City.

Customers can report outages and other service issues via Meralco’s official social media pages, by texting 0920-9716211 or 0917-5516211, or by calling the Meralco Hotline at 16211.
