Meralco has completed the restoration of electricity service to approximately 1,600 customers in Quezon City after a fallen billboard damaged its distribution facilities along Katipunan Avenue on Saturday, July 19.
The power utility said service was fully restored by Sunday morning, July 20, following overnight repair and clearing operations.
“Our crews worked round the clock to ensure that power was safely and promptly restored to our affected customers,” said Joe R. Zaldarriaga, Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications. “We also had to allow for the necessary clearing operations related to the fallen billboard before we could safely re-energize the remaining affected customers.”
Meralco thanked the public for their patience and understanding while repairs were underway.
