Meralco announced that it achieved its best performance to date at the 2025 International Business Awards (IBA), following an awarding ceremony held on October 10 in Lisbon, Portugal, where the company received 15 Stevie Awards across sustainability, community engagement, leadership, and communications categories. The recognitions were selected from more than 3,800 nominations from over 70 countries and territories.

Five Gold awards were granted to Meralco, including Sustainability Leadership for its “Powering the Good Life” agenda and Sustainability Initiative of the Year for its Greening the Network program. The company also earned Gold for its MTerra Solar video, for its Meralco Powerhouse investor event, and for Sustainability Hero of the Year, awarded to Chief Sustainability Officer Raymond B. Ravelo.

Eight Silver awards recognized Meralco’s initiatives in ESG, diversity and inclusion, circular economy practices, and community programs. Ravelo also received a Silver for Sustainability Advocate of the Year, while Jeffrey O. Tarayao earned a Silver award for Thought Leader of the Year. Ravelo said: “These Stevie Awards are a tribute to the nearly 20,000 women and men of One Meralco… This achievement energizes us to keep pushing forward.”

Two Bronze awards were given for Meralco’s BulacanSol sustainability video and for its 2023 annual and sustainability report titled Pangako (Promise). The International Business Awards, often referred to as the “Olympics of the workplace,” recognize global organizations for excellence across business and social impact. Stevie Awards President Maggie Miller said the 2025 winners set “a new benchmark for excellence.”
