Mobi Solar Philippines, Long Neng Power launch USD 60M solar JV

Mobi Solar Philippines and Long Neng Power Philippines have formalized a joint venture (JV) agreement on December 13, advancing sustainable energy development in the Philippines. The signing took place during Mobi Solar’s Client Appreciation Year End Event in Mandaluyong City.

Under the agreement, both companies will invest USD 20 million over the first three years to develop 30MW of solar capacity, followed by USD 40 million for a second three-year phase to achieve 60MW capacity. The funding will be facilitated through Long Neng Power Hong Kong and MOBI Renewables Hong Kong.

The JV merges Long Neng Power’s global experience in photovoltaic power, industrial energy storage, and smart energy management with Mobi Solar Philippines’ local expertise in end-to-end solar solutions, including power purchase agreements (PPA), engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M).

Ronghua Liao, CEO of Mobi Solar Philippines Inc., said the partnership strengthens the company’s clean energy push. “This joint venture accelerates the rollout of scalable, zero-CAPEX solar solutions by combining strong local expertise with global technology,” .

Wang Zixu, President of Long Neng Power Philippines, said the Philippines is a strategic growth market. “Partnering with Mobi Solar enables us to deliver high-quality solar projects that improve energy security and support the country’s low-carbon transition.”

The partnership is designed to accelerate the adoption of sustainable, zero-CAPEX solar solutions, combining international technical know-how with strong local market knowledge. It positions the joint venture as a significant contributor to the Philippine renewable energy sector, supporting industrial energy transition and expanding clean energy capacity.

How might this joint venture shape the local solar market and influence the broader shift toward zero-CAPEX renewable energy solutions in the Philippines?
