Movem, the e-mobility arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has launched five electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Edades Tower and Edades Suites in Rockwell Center, Makati.
The Movem stations are each equipped with 22-kilowatt (kW) AC chargers for the exclusive use of the residents of the two residential towers, Rockwell Club members, and retail patrons within Edades Tower.
The rollout showcases the ongoing trend of adopting EV infrastructure into premium residential developments, showcasing how charging stations are changing from just public facilities into built-in amenities.
“The launch of our electric vehicle charging stations, in partnership with Movem, is an important step in strengthening our sustainable and future-ready initiatives. As electric mobility grows, it’s important that we provide the right infrastructure while maintaining the quality and convenience our developments are known for,” said Valerie Jane L. Soliven, Chairman of the Board of Edades by Rockwell Condominium Corporation.
Movem President and Chief Executive Officer Raymond B. Ravelo said the launch signals the continued broader push toward cleaner mobility solutions.
“What we have set up here in Rockwell Edades Tower and Suites goes well beyond EV charging. What we have here is a symbol of sustainable and meaningful progress, as we at Rockwell and Movem, help enable cleaner and greener mobility,” Ravelo said.
Through Movem’s ChargeM app, users can also monitor real-time station availability, manage charging sessions, and complete cashless transactions.
Will embedding EV charging in premium residential towers help accelerate broader electric vehicle adoption in the capital?
