MSpectrum Installs Solar Rooftop for DHL Supply Chain in Laguna

MSpectrum, Inc., the solar energy subsidiary of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has finished the installation of a 120-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar rooftop system at DHL Supply Chain’s training center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The project is part of DHL’s wider sustainability efforts as it scales operations in the Philippines.

This newly commissioned solar rooftop is expected to generate around 171,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy annually, reducing DHL’s carbon emissions by an approximated 121 tons each year. This reduction is equivalent to planting around 5,500 trees or offsetting over 482,000 kilometers of vehicle travel, according to the company.

“We are looking at building a few more sites powered by solar energy. It just makes so much sense, not just for this generation, but for future generations as well,” said Bevan Williams, Country Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain. “We’ll continue to invest in solar panels, and we look forward to expanding and strengthening this partnership with MSpectrum.”

The project highlights MSpectrum’s role in pushing for renewable energy adoption among industrial and commercial clients. “It is a tremendous honor for us to be working alongside a global brand that shares our vision of a cleaner, greener future,” said Ma. Cecilia M. Domingo, President and CEO of MSpectrum. “With this project, we take one step closer to that future.”

This initiative builds on an existing collaboration between DHL and Meralco. The partnership began with the energization of DHL’s largest logistics facility in the same city and was further enhanced through Power Consult, Meralco’s consulting arm for energy efficiency, which supported DHL in optimizing its energy use.

“While DHL ensures the seamless movement of goods and keeps global supply chains running, Meralco delivers power that fuels your operations,” said Charina P. Padua, Meralco First Vice President and Head of Customer Retail Services. “Together, we drive progress and productivity that ripple far beyond our individual roles — creating opportunities and contributing to the development of a more resilient and inclusive nation.”

This latest solar project showcases the ongoing momentum behind the Philippines’ clean energy transition, as more and more companies seek to integrate renewable energy into their operations and reduce their environmental footprint.
