Six electric cooperatives in Mindanao will be provided with 30,500 units of solar home systems with the approval of a supply contract by the National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR).
Based on a BusinessMirror report, the supply contract was awarded to Trademaster Resources Corporation, which distributes various appliance brands.
The solar home systems will be distributed to the following electric cooperatives: First Bukidnon Electric Cooperative, Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative, Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative, Davao Del Sur Electric Cooperative, South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative, and Cotabato Electric Cooperative.
The said electric cooperatives will, then, provide the units to households in far-flung areas that have no access to electricity since they cannot be immediately reached by power distribution lines.
