The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has implemented precautionary measures to ensure the reliability of power transmission operations in spite of Tropical Storm Crising.

In a brief statement, NGCP said it has activated its Integrated Disaster Action Plan (IDAP). A plan which outlines protocols for disaster preparedness and rapid response across transmission facilities.

Among the measures already in place are:

• Ensuring the readiness of communications equipment;
• Pre-positioning line crews in strategic areas;
• Securing hardware materials and supplies for possible repair operations.

NGCP said these preparations are aimed at minimizing potential service disruptions and facilitating quick restoration of affected lines and facilities.

Tropical Storm Crising is expected to bring strong winds a

nd heavy rainfall to the country. NGCP assured stakeholders it remains on high alert as it monitors the storm’s movement and potential impact.
