The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) promised to fasten its renewable and sustainable energy projects.

In a report by the Manila Standard, the NGCP emphasized the importance of strengthening the percentage of renewable energy (RE) share in the country’s energy mix and said that it will be relying on its strategic agreement with the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) for its sustainability plan.

The collaboration with SGCC would allow NGCP to keep up with an increasing amount of RE technology in the national grid.

The corporation would also focus on improving the disaster resilience of the grid infrastructure and increase continual equipment and workforce improvements, particularly those that will prevent outages or offer immediate solutions in the event of natural calamities.

The NGCP is currently making investments in top-notch training and grants for aspiring Filipino engineers to help foster local talent.
