800 homes in Aborlan in the west coast of Palawan will now have electricity after solar home systems were distributed throughout its communities.
The project, headed by Palawan 3rd district representatives Gil Acosta and board member Albert Rama, will benefit the villages of Apurawan and Culandanum, as well as the Bubusawin, Daan, and Sto. Nino communities.
The solar home systems are a part of the 35,000 units that are being distributed to areas that have yet to be connected to the main power grid, Acosta said.
The beneficiaries of these solar home systems are households not reached by regular power services. Poor families are also qualified, Acosta said.
The provincial government also gave food packs courtesy of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
