The Philippine Energy Research & Policy Institute (PERPI) and Asia Engine for Net Zero Institute, Inc. (AENZ) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on energy policy development, workforce training, and initiatives supporting a just and regenerative energy transition in the Philippines.
The partnership sets a non-binding framework for cooperation on research, policy papers, pilot programs, and knowledge-sharing activities. AENZ will provide advisory support for initiatives such as agrivoltaics — a renewable energy approach that integrates solar power with agriculture to boost both energy output and food security — and contribute to designing training programs and standards.
PERPI, as a government-mandated energy policy think tank, will lead applied research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement, while working with AENZ on joint seminars, training, and capacity-building to address skills gaps in the renewable energy and decarbonization sectors.
How could partnerships like this accelerate renewable energy adoption, green jobs, and policy reform in the Philippines? Share your insights.
