PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and ISUZU Autoparts Manufacturing Corp. (IAMC) have activated a 3.002-megawatt peak (MWp) rooftop solar facility at IAMC’s plant in Laguna Technopark, Biñan—the largest installation of its kind in the area to date.
The project was officially switched on during a ceremony on June 26, led by PGEC President & CEO F.G. Delfin, Jr., IAMC President Takashi Ishikawa, and PEZA CALABARZON Deputy Zone Administrator Engr. Alejo F. Macaraeg. Senior executives from Isuzu Motors’ operations in Japan and Southeast Asia were also in attendance.
“This solar rooftop project underscores our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and advancing sustainable manufacturing practices consistent with Isuzu’s Environmental Vision 2050, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the Philippines’ Ambisyon Natin 2040,” said IAMC President Takashi Ishikawa. “This project is also an important milestone as the IAMC Laguna plant is only the third Isuzu manufacturing unit in Southeast Asia installed with an own-use rooftop solar facility.”

IAMC, a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited Japan, manufactures automotive parts and has made sustainability a priority in its operations. The 3.002 MWp rooftop system is financed and built by PGEC. It spans IAMC’s four main buildings and consists of 4,289 Trina 700 Wp solar panels and 19 Huawei 100/150 kW string inverters. Construction, including roof refurbishment and reinforcement, was completed within seven months by EPC contractor Fravinz Enterprises, Inc.
The system is expected to provide around 20% of IAMC’s annual power requirements and cut approximately 3,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
“This 3.002 MWp IAMC rooftop solar facility can supply 20% of IAMC’s annual power needs enhancing IAMC’s energy security and contributing to the Department of Energy’s energy resiliency and affordability goals,” said PGEC President & CEO F.G. Delfin Jr. “PGEC looks forward to partnering with other locators and industries for a collective action towards energy security, lower power costs, and better business environment for the country.”
PEZA CALABARZON’s Engr. Macaraeg praised the initiative, calling it a “significant milestone” that aligns with PEZA’s goals of innovation, economic progress, and environmental sustainability.
